Unfortunately acne scarring is not the only culprit when it comes dark spots within the skin. Medications, UV ray exposure, pregnancy and even some diseases can have a contribution as well! Luckily, there are SO many breakthrough products that can help minimize and even reverse dark spotting!
I love Philosophy so much! The great thing about them is that they're paraben, sulfate, synthetic fragrances/dyes, pthalates, GMO's and triclosan free! So, I was glad to see that they not only have a dark spot corrector but also an entire system devoted to faster/better results in just a few weeks! (I wouldn't recommend the full correcting system to anyone under the age of 30- the dark spot corrector is just enough). My skin is pretty sensitive and I had no problem with it! It definitely takes a few weeks to see results but it works and feels great!
-Apply a small amount all over face at night after cleansing and before moisturizing.
-Use SPF of 30 and above daily! Possible sensitivity to the sun.
-Should be safe for darker skin tones! It feels really gentle!
-Be extremely careful if you choose to use the entire system! Retin A doesn't play well with others. Be sure that none of your other products contain Retin A (too much can cause damage to the skin and excessive sensitivity to sun exposure).
